Mark Ikeda enjoys classical music, climbing trees and tea. After training in theatre Mark has emerged into the world of dance. His passion for theatre and contemporary dance has brought him endless amounts of joy and possibility. Large amounts of gratitude rest with One Yellow Rabbit, Springboard Performance, the University of Calgary and the Canadian Improv Games — for the wonderful experiences and friendships.
Artistic Statement
Mark’s creative practice is centered around the exploration of original performances through storytelling and movement. He has developed a unique methodology combining narrative, poetry and choreography. Shifting from an acting degree from the University of Calgary into the world of movement has given Mark a deep fascination between verbal and non-verbal art forms.
