Slow Dance Party #5

Slow Dancing meets containR

Sometimes we need to be reminded that slow is beautiful. Join us for a change of pace at the Slow Dance Party!
Every song is a slow song, so you can sway the night away in the arms of your partner, friends, and cute strangers. Keep track of your dance partners with a special Dance Card, and erase your memories of awkward high school dances with an evening of songs selected for maximum slowdancibility.

Feeling shy? For all the wallflowers, there will be Designated Dancers to help get you swaying. If dancing isn’t your cup of tea, you can cozy up in the beer garden and enjoy the music!

The Slow Dance Party welcomes slow-dancers of every gender and sexuality.

Vile Fights
Les Fermires Obsedees (Montreal)

Imagined as a series of tableaux which will show off a power play, competition clashes and sports tournaments, Vile Fights is a metaphor of power struggles associated with political and economic issues. The F.O. will manage this game as a devoted plan; where at first, only they know the rules. They will display a strategy game that will decline in several successive actions and vanity tables and hysteria of the performance at large.

Les Fermires Obsedees performances revolve around notions of play, power and human hierarchies. Engaged in their own sporty circus, Les Fermires give body and soul in their discipline in order to fulfill their aspirations while highlighting a festive world and completely destabilizing chaos.

Any Slight Mark (NORWAY)
ANY SLIGHT MARK is an exploration of perception and the notion of touch through the creation of two linked sound pieces, one focusing on the human body and the other one on space.

The project started during the course ‘Long duration performance’ which took place at the Norwegian Theatre Academy in Fredrikstad during the fall 2011. ANY SLIGHT MARK is based on a collaboration between Emma Örn, Anna Haglund (students at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts), Siiri Eriksson (graduated from the same school in 2010) and Paolo Zuccotti (student at the Norwegian Theatre Academy).
