An international artist from Montréal now torn between the cultures of Edmonton and Montréal. A loyal Edmontonian who travels the world expanding her practice. And an artist with one foot firmly planted on both sides of the Rocky Mountains but drawn back to the potential of Alberta. Alvarado’s LaFura blurs the line between light and video, exploring their relationship to the internal process of the moving body. Jeannie Vanderkerkhove and Nicole Mion weave a fascination with electricity, physics, and the natural world in Gut Symmetries. loop thing brings Snelling’s aural landscape and movement together with Reinhard’s guitar music colliding and melding in a crucible of improvisation.
